The ingredients needed to make Garlic Bread:
  1. Get 4 clove garlic
  2. Make ready 1/2 stick butter
  3. Prepare 1 tbsp basil
  4. Get 1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella, or pizza cheese mix
  5. Prepare 1 loaf Italian bread or ciabatta bread, not sliced
Instructions to make Garlic Bread:
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F
  2. Finely chop the garlic
  3. In a pan, on medium low heat, add the butter and garlic.
  4. Make sure not to burn butter. Once butter is melted, add basil and simmer for another 5 minutes
  5. Slice the bread in half the long way, so there is a top and a bottom.
  6. Spread the garlic mixture over the bottom half of bread. Leave a little to spread on the top half. You can spread it with a brush or a spoon.
  7. Evenly spread the cheese across the bottom half, filling in air pockets in the bread for that extra surprise.;-)
  8. Put the bread on a baking rack, on a cookie sheet.
  9. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until cheese is melted through. You can check by lifting the top half off, if it comes off, you need more time.
  10. When finished, remove bread and slice into an inch to an inch and a half slices. Makes 8 - 10 slices.
